Books, Library Cards, and Borrowing
Get a Dillon Public Library card to borrow books, audiobooks, movies, and digital materials. Your library card can also help you request items from other libraries.
Get a Library Card
Visit the Dillon Public Library and bring:

A valid driver’s license or other photo ID

Current mail showing your physical address

For residents of surrounding areas, mail showing a post office box may be accepted
Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who provides identification or current mail.

An online library card is temporary and remains valid for 30 days.
To receive a permanent library card, visit the Dillon Public Library within 30 days of submitting your online application. Please bring the required identification and proof of address.
Temporary online cards are limited to one per person.
Borrowing Periods
Library materials may be borrowed for the following periods:

New books: 2 weeks

Regular books: 4 weeks

Audiobooks: 4 weeks

Movies: 5 days

Use [MontanaLibrary2Go] to borrow digital books and audiobooks:

Browse the collection and borrow an available title—or place a hold.
Request Books Through the Shared Catalog
Use the [Shared Catalog] to search participating libraries:

Search for a book by title, author, or subject.

Select the item you want.

Place a hold using your library account.
You will be notified when the item is available for pickup.
Request an Interlibrary Loan
If an item is unavailable through the Dillon Public Library or Shared Catalog, you may be able to request it through [Interlibrary Loan].
Interlibrary loan requests have a $5 mailing fee.
To submit a request:

Open the Interlibrary Loan website.

Search for the item by title, author, or another identifier.

Select the item’s blue title.

Confirm that the selected edition is the correct item.

Choose “Borrow this item from another library.”
